I think the GOP breaking up is a great thing. I also pray the Democratic Party breaks up. Maybe from those fragments -- if the country survives the lunacy we're currently experiencing -- we might be able to form political parties that actually represent Americans. I know, being on the Left, you can't really see how far out of alignment the Democratic Party is with anything approaching "moderate" public opinion, but it is far out of alignment with even many of its own members. Which is not to stay the Republican Party is doing any better in representing their constituents. Both political parties are about getting reelected and as long as the voters refuse to demand representation in response to their votes, neither major party is going to represent most people. Smaller parties and a dissolved duopoly might serve us better.
