Do you believe that there is an argument to also curtail the power of Congress? What about the administrative state? The two represent power structures within the government that have inordinate power to destroy individual American lives. I absolutely believe the federal government, in all its capacities, needs to be restrained, but if you curtail only the president, you risk damaging the checks-and-balances system that has prevented one branch of government from overwhelming all other branches of government. I think the Trump presidency highlighted that the administrative state does not answer to the president or Congress and that needs to addressed since it exists nowhere in the Constitution, so actually shouldn't exist in its current form.
